Our first date was right after Thanksgiving in 2017, just outside Pittsburgh at a restaurant called Emporio: A Meatball Joint, the beginning of many whiskey and wine pairings and even better conversations.We met during a time when neither of us expected much, just honest company and good conversation. In our early days, Jeremy was driving long haul, often gone for weeks at a time, and Amanda was working three jobs. Our time together was limited, but it was intentional from the start. That connection slowly grew into something lasting.These days, we still savor slow mornings over coffee and head for the wilderness whenever we can, sometimes together, sometimes side by side in our own way. Jeremy’s hiking ridge lines and chasing big game while Amanda keeps the fire going back at camp. On the water, he’s casting a line while she drifts nearby with the cooler and a book.He proposed at Leslie Gulch, a canyon in Oregon we were exploring with Amanda’s mom. While she and Amanda searched for rocks, Jeremy had been climbing across the surrounding cliffs. When he came down, Amanda turned to him, and there he was, kneeling with a “cool rock” that turned out to be the perfect ring, and a very well-timed dad joke. It was surprising and thoughtful, a moment tucked into a place that already felt special. And just like that, the next chapter began.We can’t wait to get married in the mountains we love, surrounded by the people who’ve supported us along the way.
